Cardiothoracic Imaging specializes in the diagnosis of diseases and disorders of the heart and lungs, as well as the other structures of the chest. Our Board-certified and fellowship-trained specialists are regionally and nationally known for their technical, medical imaging and diagnostic expertise, and are specially trained in heart (cardiovascular) and chest (thoracic) imaging – with expertise that is unique to academic medical centers.

VCU Health’s Cardiothoracic Imaging uses the most sophisticated, latest generation of high-tech scanners to allow our experts to obtain and interpret images of the heart, lungs, and other structures of the chest of the highest quality, while using the lowest levels of radiation possible.  The imaging procedures are safe and painless, and are all performed on an outpatient basis - no hospital stay is required.

As part of an academic and research-backed medical institution, the VCU Health Cardiothoracic Imaging team also serves as educators and leading authors of medical publications and textbooks.
